Mrs White
Well Hello my Lovelies… I’m here with another fabulous Wifey, ready to share some Wedding Wisdom with you all in her Letter from Mrs to Miss!
This Letter is written by the beautiful Mrs White, who didn’t allow anything to stand in her way when wishing to marry the love of her life… not even a Global Pandemic! This wedding is a true testament to the whole outlook of the wedding industry this year, in that… #LOVEISNOTCANCELLED!
Allow me to handover to Mrs White herself who will be sharing her best bits and top tips:
Hello and welcome to another blog of Mrs to Miss. I am Mrs White and I can say ‘I got married during a pandemic and had an AMAZING COVID wedding’… Yes that’s right it was AMAZING!!
A little bit about my wedding, due to restrictions we cut back a lot basically to the minimum. We had 30 guests, a church wedding (married by my father in law) and a reception in the rectory garden. No fancy hotel or caterers just our nearest and dearest with afternoon tea and plenty of booze 😊
My Best Bits:
- Due to covid I could only get ready at home with my parents this was magical just me and them spending my last few hours as a ‘Miss’ together
- Seeing the look on my dad’s face when I came down the stairs in my dress
- Having a moment when I got to the church with my dad and bridesmaid instead of rushing down that aisle
- Having the hymns we wanted… fun ones that we sang at school so people could join in.
- Having a best friend be the photographer making us feel at ease throughout (we couldn’t have a photographer due to numbers)
What I would do differently:
- Have someone record the speeches. I have them on paper but would have loved a video
- Stop worrying about saying my vows and messing up. In the end it was him who messed up but no one actually realised!
- Stop worrying about what others think i.e. if you didn’t invite them etc. We had to go from 100 to 30 but it actually made us realise who was close to us.
Tips from Me to You:
- Save a flower from your bouquet and your husbands button hole dry them and keep them
- Get a little keep sake box to keep things in such as; speeches, dried flowers, ring box, an invite etc. so you always have those memories.
- Take 15 minutes in the day to spend it just you and your husband no one else… no photographer just you two… it’s amazing just to talk and savour the day!
- It’s normal to be nervous, but try not to worry, it will all go perfectly.
- If you want to save money (baring in mind due to covid ours ended up costing a ridiculous amount less) cut down your guest list… re-think favours (no one really remembers them anyway)
So that’s it from me. I wish you all the luck in the world and if you are still getting married in the pandemic my advice is… GO FOR IT! You’ll be surprised how magical your day is!
Well there you have it Lovelies… Wedding advice from a brand new wife… who better to take wedding tips from! Stay tuned for more and more Letters in this Series!
Lots of Love,
Mrs T (& Mrs W) x
