Mr & Mrs Tweddle – Shannon & Phill’s Wedding
As some of you will have seen, I was at a STUNNING Wedding on Wednesday this week.
This was for my friends Shannon & Phill – the new Mr & Mrs Tweddle!
I had so many questions from Brides on things like ‘who did the flowers?’ And ‘where was the Groom’s suit from?’ that I thought you might all enjoy a ‘real-life wedding profile’ all about their wedding day… so here goes!
Well to start with… let’s talk about the Date/Venue changes!
This pandemic has been pretty tough on everyone… but I definitely don’t think anyone planned on having to reschedule their wedding… not just once… but FOUR TIMES!
The wedding was originally booked at Charlton Hall, then moved to Cyprus, then back to the UK at Beamish Hall, then finally South Causey inn. It was supposed to take place on bonfire night but had to be pulled forward a day at short notice (thanks to Lockdown No. 2!).
I was actually with the Bride when she heard the news that the lockdown would be happening ON her wedding day and I honestly could have cried for her. Everyone pulled together at short notice and managed to get the wedding moved and I believe that almost everyone who was due to be there managed to make it – so we were over the moon for them (up yours COVID!).
VENUE:
I’ve never been before but I definitely want to go back again! The Reception Room at South Causey inn was absolutely beautiful, it actually worked really well with the number of lower guests. A special mention goes to the Master of Ceremonies – Jamie – who kept me fuelled on my fave (Pornstar Martinis) all day long!
ATTIRE:
First of all lets start with the beautiful bride:
Her Make-Up was done by the fabulous Emmy (at Faces by Emmy). Emmy actually did my make-up for my Baby Shower and I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough (she made me look like such a glamorous queen despite actually feeling like a massive pregnant exhausted whale!). Once again she did a fantastic job painting Shannon’s face for her wedding, I couldn’t stop staring at her all day… her make-up was perfect! (Especially her eyebrows!)
Hair styled by Katie at Keep it Pinned – Shannon opted for a loose style braid down her back, which worked perfectly with her low-backed dress.
Her Headpiece was a custom-piece made by TheHandmadeTiara and was absolutely to-die-for. I know Shannon had spent a longgg time trying to find the perfect statement piece and it was just that…PERFECT!
Jewellery wise, her Bracelet was Swarovski she wore Earrings made by Agnes at Treasures570 – a gift from the groom!
Shoes: Rose Gold Strappy Heels from Dune London.
And most importantly… the dress:
This was actually her second dress as Shannon actually changed her mind very recently! And she definitely made the right decision… this dress was just perfect for her and was so stunning that it made me want to get married all over again!
(I promise I’m not sitting wearing my wedding dress as I write this… only because it doesn’t fit me anymore – thanks pregnancy!).
The Designer was Elysee Bridal in the style ‘Rachelle’ and was purchased from Victoria Robson Bridal in Northallerton. I was there for a fitting with Shannon for her original dress and Victoria was AMAZING (she was so patient and really knows her stuff!).
Victoria also custom made Scarlett’s outfit. (the Flower Girl & Daughter of the B&G)
Which brings me on to what everyone else was wearing:
The Bridesmaids Dress was white & lace and was from Chi Chi Clothing – (Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of this one but it’s actually no longer available on the website anyway!)
Phill’s Suit was LUSH – so different… I loved it! Made by Twisted Tailor.
Taylor’s Suit (Page Boy & Son of the B&G) was also from Twisted Tailor but was bought as a full men’s size as they don’t have a kids size and was actually tailored by the Mother of the Bride in order to match the Groom (what a brilliant job she did – fab idea!)
The Champagne colour ties for the Best Man, Groom & Father of the Bride were all from Swagger & Swoon. A FABULOUS service who can colour match perfectly to your colour scheme, for example, to the bridesmaids dresses. I’ve dealt with them before and they were fantastic, they will send you swatches in the post so you get the exact colour you are looking for. Not just ties, but cravats, pocket squares, bow ties and even DOG BOWS too! – how amazing is that!
And for myself, as a guest (and Quiz Master for the ‘evening do’) I wanted to look nice too! My dress was a wine-coloured floor length number from Phase Eight that I wore for a Wedding Awards Evening a few years ago. My make up & hair was just by me (usually I would have booked Emmy for my make-up, but obvs she was busy with the Bride, and my Hairdresser friend Tayla who is based at The Venue for my hair, but she is currently isolating poor thing!). My jewellery actually matched the Brides earrings as it was made by Agnes (Treasures570) and they were my wedding earrings too! Agnes also made my necklace and headpiece to match – which I also wore to this wedding. The shoes I wore were my wedding heels (my babies)… my winged white and gold ‘Evangeline’s’ by Sophia Webster.
EVENT DRESSING / FLORIST:
Now that everyone was looking fab… the venue had to look fab too…
Shannon & Phill hired an Event Dresser to make sure their day all came together perfectly. They chose the fantastic Glynis at Made Simply Perfect who did not just the flowers, but also the chair sashes, charger plates, the stationary inc. table plan, cards, sparker tags & welcome sign… everything!) Let me tell you… she must be an absolute saint to deal with the MANY last minute changes that the Bride sent through to her! And the venue looked GORGEOUS.
If, like me, you think this is absolutely stunning and want to replicate this look for your own wedding here’s a full list of the flowers that Glynis incorporated into her floral arrangements:
- Leucospermun Gold Dust
- Asparagus Fern Dyed Light Pink
- Natural Dried Pampas Grass
- Chrysanthemum Avignon
- Eucalyptus
- Rose Gold Palm Spear
- Hydrangea Amber
- Rose – Pink Mondial
- Rose – Quicksand
- Rose – Secret Garden
- Rose – Coral Yo-Yo
- Dried Bleached Broom Bloom
Just DREAMY!
FOOD:
The Cake was made by Ashley at The Little Cakery… it looked DEVINE and the chocolate layer was UNREAL!
The meal was SO yummy!
Starters:
Roasted Carrot & Coriander Soup
Homemade Chicken Liver Pate served with Home Dried Tomato, Apple Ale Chutney & Onion Bread Crostini
Main:
Pan Fried Chicken Breast in a White Wine & Mushroom Sauce
Slow Roasted Leg of Lamb with Homemade Yorkshire Pudding
Dessert:
Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake
Baileys Creme Brûlée served with Homemade Shortbread
I went for the Pate, Chicken & Cheesecake and they were delish!
ENTERTAINMENT:
During the meal they had a singer; Danielle Brown Music – absolute voice of an angel! Go and check out my story highlight for this wedding to hear a little snippet! I’ve never heard her sing before and it was SO lovely to meet her, she’s such a sweetheart!
Entertainment wise, they also had the HILARIOUS Luke Howells. Fabulous magician and entertainer, he had us absolutely howling laughing and blew my mind with his tricks – I honestly have no idea how he did any of it! He gets extra points because he called me @TheWeddingTaylor all day -which I obvs loved!
And for the Evening we had Sparklers (big fan of a sparkler pic!) and also Fireworks! These were done by Reaction Fireworks who I’ve worked with many times before (extremely professional and can work with any budget!)… as usual their timings were SPOT ON!
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY:
And to Capture the whole day… the FABULOUS team over at Scott Spock & Ko!
They covered both the photo and the video, they work together fantastically as a team and always bring massive amounts of energy and fun… not to mention, their photos are just SO EXTRA… I LOVE THEM! It was fab to see Scott, Korinne, Phil & Miss K, as always!
Let me tell you… I CAN’T WAIT to see the photos & video!
OTHER:
Unfortunately their Favours (personalised Lollipops) didn’t arrive in time due to the date change. Again due to the date change, also not in attendance on the day were the Birds of Prey they booked to entertain their guests during the Drinks Reception – but I think what they managed to pull off at such short notice was absolutely amazing and I am SO proud of them!
I’m sure you all have already seen, on my insta stories and latest post, my gorgeous and super thoughtful gift that Shannon bought me for helping her with her wedding planning. It was made by Serendipity Love Signs, they also make signs for any weddings and events so make sure to check them out! I’m in love with my little socials sign – super cute!
They also had little personalised individual bags of Confetti from WedThing.
All in all, it was an absolutely lush wedding day and I thought everything looked beautiful. They had such a fantastic team of suppliers assembled so it was always going to be fab, but I think it was made even more special by the fact that everyone pulled together in time to make sure these 2 could get married before Lockdown No. 2.
On behalf of our fabulous Bride & Groom, a massive thank you to all involved!
I wish we could do it all over again!
I hope you enjoyed this Real-Life Wedding Profile, hopefully more to come when things return to ‘normal’ and we get our freedom back… whenever that may be!
Lots of Love,
Mrs T x
